After notching up over two decades of experience in child care, my passion to provide education and care to younger children in a stimulating and enriching environment is stronger than ever.
As the leading educator at Little Sunshine Day Care, I have created a safe, supportive and effective system that encourages our young clientele to effectively develop their pre-educational life stage, so that they are well prepared for the emotional, social and intellectual demands they will later face in life.
Your children's chance at a robust early development program is at the core of my professional values, as I strongly believe that their ability to cope with challenges that they will later encounter greatly depends on the quality of care, attention and support they receive from their assigned caregivers.
Following a professional background including relevant industry experience, as well as a Diploma in Community Services, Diploma in Centre Base Service, and a Bachelor in Early Education and Care from the University of New England, my drive to further educate myself has gained more momentum as I'm presently enrolled in a Master of Early Education and Care.
Solidifying my education even further is my Certificate Course through ASPECTS (Positive Partnership), to gain a better understanding of working with children who are on the spectrum.
little sunshine long Day Care provides a nurturing and stimulating space for children. Our aim is to encourage curiosity, inquiry, discovery, and critical thinking, reflecting the lives of children as they grow.
The materials we use are all selected to support children’s learning, interests, and skills. They are rich in variety, to challenge and stimulate your child, regardless of their age or ability.
Each employee at Little Sunshine Long Day Care is fully trained to give your child the quality care they need. We also ensure that each person we employ has a genuine love for children.
It is not enough that they know how to care for children; we want them to want to take care of children. Little Sunshine team are committed to encouraging and supporting the growth of each and every child in our care. For our Little Sunshine educators this isn’t just a job, but it is a responsibility and a privilege to work in this field.
Our room’s philosophy is in line with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) which we use in our daily interactions with the children and in our programming
There are five Learning Outcomes in the EYLF which form its framework:
As child care facilities take a more holistic view of the environment, the need for kids to acquire an appreciation of practices that further sustainability is critical.
That's why Little Sunshine Day Care has incorporated sustainability practices into its internal policy and code of conduct to encourage both staff and our young clients to contribute to creating a safer and cleaner world.
Many still visualise "sustainability" as public policies that demand drastic lifestyle alterations to accommodate a natural world that's been heavily stressed by excessive industrial output, but we believe that younger children require a simplified curriculum that treats environmentally-friendly activities as recreation and leisure time.
These activities include gardening, composting, and cultivating worm farms, as well as verbal discussions on the importance of recycling, the impact of littering, and implications of air quality and pollution – a proven winner for nurturing the foundation for a deeper knowledge of what they can do to mitigate potential environmental damage.
Little Sunshine Day Care highly values its environmental direction, and strictly incorporates Quality Area 3 of the National Quality Standards into its best-practice – not only is this a standard policy direction for our organisation, we regard sustainability as a crucial odyssey for children's early development and setting the stage for their future roles in society as environmental defenders.
